They will ...These are terrible pests in my garden. They will climb a good height on cannas to get at the tender new leaves, just as they are emerging all rolled up, and when they unfurl they have a line of holes across them where the slug ate them. They are also a hazard on my back steps--just as bad as stepping on a banana peel.
